Call ’em Old World Monkeys or Grey Langurs

Weird as it may sound – I sometimes see human faces in these monkeys and see monkey faces in humans. 🙂

Each one of them has such a strong and distinct personality just like us humans. It can be quite amusing to watch these animals in the wild.

However, every now and then, they make it into town (Umred), and you can watch them in the trees. Nuisance to some but I find them interesting.

To be really honest, I was pretty scared to get close to this Langur in the picture and to look him straight in the eye – they can be very aggressive. It wasn’t a great idea, but since I did not carry or own a telephoto lens, I felt like I needed to get closer to get at least a decent shot.
