Formerly a weblog focused on Umred, this blog has transformed to delve into topics that align with my interests.

And with rain comes … a new life, a new beginning, a new hope

It’s the thunder you hear first, as if announcing the start of a new cycle. A drum-roll for the show to begin and to set all the activities in motion. The entire community washes away the dust from the past, the heat and the drudgery in the rain and prepares to start afresh.

One of the main occupations in Umred is agriculture so most people in the countryside seem busy preparing the land, sowing the seeds for a fresh start with a hope for a healthy crop. Kids start another year in school hoping to learn new facts of life. And businesses gear up to provide to these growing activities.

In the picture is a cotton plant seedling, just starting out. It’s one of the two major crops in this area, the other being Soybean.

In just two weeks the place looks transformed into something so full of life.

Below is another picture. It may look all green and welcoming now, but it has the potential to turn you all red .

Chilli is another popular thing to grow in this region that somehow finds its way into most foods here. Oh noes!8-O
