The women in this picture belong to a close knit society/tribe in Umred, India – locals call them “Bharadis”. I have been told that they make their living by selling semi-precious stones and through palmistry.
These women looked pretty strong to me, fetching water from far away for daily usage. Very much like superwomen in their colorful costumes, tattoos and their typical paan stained lips.
